Ercolino’s vineyard was built in 2014, covering two hectares of land in the Colle Del Vento area.
The vines we produce here are Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo.
There is an interesting story regarding the Montepulciano vines: it comes from an old vineyard from the Subequana Valley, which was reimplanted after the Phylloxera disease of the 1800s.
This specific type of vine was brought into our family by my grand-grandfather, and is part of our tradition ever since.
The plantation system is the Pergola Abruzzese, with a plant density of 1600 per hectare.
The soil is rich in clay and there is no artificial irrigation system.
